AUVESY announces the winners of its IT competition!
The grand prize of € 5,000 for the school with the most compelling concept for an IT solution went to BBS Bad Bergzabern
AUVESY is proud to announce the winners of its recent IT competition. A total of seven high-schools participated in the competition in which each was tasked with coming up with their own unique concept for an IT solution for their school. On 18 December 2018, AUVESY CEO Dr.-Ing. Tim Weckerle and Mayor Dr. Maximilian Ingenthron awarded the grand prize of € 5,000 to BBS Bad Bergzabern.
The school came up with an innovative design for a solution that will give students a practical view of the interconnections within a production facility and the Industrial Internet of Things. The school plans to install a network that will include a simulation of a production facility that students will be able to interact with.
"Encouraging the development of young local talent is something that we take very seriously. It was the reason why we established this competition", explains Dr. -Ing. Tim Weckerle. "Each school was given the task of coming up with a demonstrable plan that showed how they would use the prize money in order to advance and promote the IT profile of their school. The winning concept from BBS Bad Bergzabern caught our attention due to its bold, future-oriented approach."
Dr. Maximilian Ingenthron praised AUVESY for the IT award. "Initiatives like this help to promote regional growth. I am delighted that there are forward-thinking companies like AUVESY who are willing to help young people better prepare for the challenges that they will face in the future workforce."
Two other entries that also stood out among the competition were each awarded € 500. One went to the Konrad-Adenauer-Realschule for their idea involving the use of iPads for practically-oriented educational purposes and the other to BBS Landau for their smart-home model.
We would like to thank all entrants for their hard work and outstandingly innovative ideas!
